SORTIE DE SECOURS
OUTDOOR EPHEMERAL EXHIBITION
"Sortie de Secours" was a temporary outdoor exhibition that took place in an open-air alley in the Mont-Royal neighborhood during the summer of 2021, featuring the presence of the artist painter Brigitte Matte. This fourth solo exhibition by the artist showcased her various experiments while embodying the inner duality of her being.
In addition to the technical design and layout, we conceived the scenography of this exhibition and proposed a pathway that took into account various constraints, such as the varying height of hanging surfaces, the irregularity of fences, the available area for hanging, planters, trees, and shrubs, all with the goal of highlighting the diverse selection of the artist's works.
Our intentions were to break away from the linearity of the alley by providing a multitude of viewpoints and foreseeing different levels of interactivity (passive, semi-passive, active), in order to offer visitors more choices and allow them to move freely without creating congestion.
This retrospective transformed the alley with Brigitte Matte's colors, providing a space for meetings, discoveries, and exchanges around her artworks. It immersed visitors in the artist's creative universe and created an accessible and enriching experience.
