BISSONNETTE RESIDENCE

RECONSTRUCTION AND EXTENSION

The owner of this triplex, located in the Cité-Limoilou borough in Quebec, wanted to restore the rear facade and courtyard of this property, while offering each tenant a private, unique, and high-quality outdoor living space.

We were commissioned to conceptualize this new terrace and balcony layout, landscape design, and carry out the refurbishment of the rear facade, which included the demolition of the entryway and exterior cladding to enhance the existing masonry. The removal of the entryway and metal sheeting allowed for increased natural light for the residents and provided a safer rear access.

On the ground, we integrated the placement of large slate mulch under the tree-lined pathway, echoing the grasses planted between the pathway and the terrace. This controlled vegetation helps transform the initially uneven terrain into a clean courtyard, exuding order, relaxation, and sobriety. The blend of natural stone blends seamlessly with the heritage ambiance. The "charcoal" guardrails and handrails bring a touch of modernity to this typical triplex in the neighborhood, while also providing an elegant contrast to the masonry.

We successfully combined ingenuity and skill for this project, and now the tenants will be able to fully enjoy these high-quality outdoor spaces.
