SORTIE DE SECOURS
OUTDOOR TEMPORARY EXHIBITION
Sortie de Secours was an ephemeral outdoor exhibition, taking place in an open-air alley in the Mont-Royal district during the summer of 2021, in the presence of the painter Brigitte Matte. This fourth solo exhibition by the artist highlighted his various experiments while embodying the inner duality of his being.
In addition to the technical design and implementation, we imagined the scenography of this exhibition and proposed a route taking into account the various constraints, such as the variable height of the hanging surfaces, the irregularity of the fences, the surface area available for hanging, planting containers, trees and shrubs, all with the aim of showcasing the artist's diverse selection of works.
Our intentions were to break with the linearity of the alley by offering a multiplicity of viewpoints and by providing different levels of interactivity (passive, semi-passive, active), in order to offer visitors more choice and allow them to to move freely, without creating traffic jams.
This retrospective transformed the alley in the colors of Brigitte Matte, offering a place for meetings, discoveries and exchanges around her works. It allowed visitors to be immersed in the artist's artistic universe and created an accessible and enriching experience.
